I have worked professionally in web development for a number of years, but more recently have also been studying fine arts. Now that I have completed my fine arts study, I am just keen to do a range of projects that utilise or extend my web development skills and knowledge.

Budget web development

Sometimes the big budget for your online presence is just not available. But that does not lessen your need for a web site.

In my experience purchasing a quality theme and implementing a CMS can offer a solution. Our time can focus on moulding content to suit your aims, customising the theme and coaching the client in using the CMS.

Case study: Ross Bannister indicated the style of site that he preferred. I then put to Ross a number of Wordpress themes that I considered to be professional in their appearance and coding and that would accommodate Ross's site objectives. Custom Web design and development

A custom site will be designed and built by me. It could range from, for instance, a static site built in XHTML and CSS only and involving only a few pages, to a dynamic site with client-side and server-side scripting, numerous pages, and a built-in CMS.

While projects will vary considerably, a custom site will usually entail the following:

  • guiding the client in establishing site aims and content areas
  • establishing a site architecture
  • preparing design templates, wireframes and functional documentation as required
  • sign off of design templates and wireframes
  • build and cross browser & platform testing
  • approval of functional site
  • content population, OR client to populate if CMS based project
  • upload of live site

The exact steps will vary depending on the scale and budget of the project. Exact steps and documentation provided for the project will be established in the initial quote.

Project-based web development

Web site maintenance

Perhaps you haven't the time to maintain your site. You might not want the expense of implementing a CMS if updates to your site are infrequent. I am happy to maintain your site at my hourly rate, or to discuss an alternative arrangement.
