I have worked as a freelance web developer for several years, but have also worked in many other careers including Hansard reporter, associate lecturer in web programming, web systems architect and artist. I bring knowledge and experience to a web project.
One thing I have learnt is how to approach a problem creatively. I am blessed (and cursed) with an eye for detail. Below are my key strengths and skills. For more details see my CV:

Skillset summary
What I have worked on more recently:
- Site development including initial client consultation, quote preparation, wireframing, design and functional documentation, design, build, cross browser and platform testing, content population
- Graphics conversion to XHTML and CSS, with styling and layout in style sheet/s
- Wordpress build and customisation
- JQuery Tools, Javascript
- PHP, MySQL backend development
- Utilising my writing skills in preparing web-ready content
Earlier work:
- Establishing scalable architecture for project work based on project specification, utilisation of existing libraries and modification of libraries and/or interface to libraries as required
- Development of SCORM-compliant courseware, entailing customisation of existing client-side javascript libraries, and build of courseware pages
- Technical documentation of procedures re publication to LMS (learning management system)
Skills I am building on:
- Continuing to hone XHTML and CSS skills and extend front-end dynamic libraries knowledge
- Building knowledge of implementation of various CMSs (small business to enterprise level); in particular will be looking at implementing custom design in Wordpress ASAP
- Developing web development resources that will help me develop sites more efficiently: documentation re quote procedure, content preparation et cetera,; libraries that I can slot in for various purposes; code snippets for common procedures; standard style sheets, et cetera
- Will be trying LemonStand eCommerce in near future ...
- Other skills as required by current and upcoming projects. I enjoy the research process, and am happy to take the time to build skills if they roughly fall within my areas of interest.
Areas that are not really my forte:
- Design of non-web-based graphics e.g. logos, print brochures
